Appliance electricity cost calculator

Quickly compare electricity costs for heaters, rice cookers, hair dryers, TVs, computers, and other appliances.

Appliance electricity cost

Estimate monthly and yearly electricity cost from appliance wattage, hours, days, and price.

Formula and method

Convert watts to kW by dividing by 1000. Monthly kWh = kW × daily hours × monthly days. Monthly cost = monthly kWh × price per kWh. Yearly cost = monthly cost × 12.

Example

Example: an 800W appliance used 3 hours daily for 30 days at NT$5/kWh costs about NT$360/month and NT$4,320/year.
